PLAYING @ THE CAMERON HOUSE
Since opening it’s doors to musicians in 1981, The Cameron House has been home to well over a thousand bands. Many of these artists have since gone on to enjoy very successful careers in music. The likes of, Gordie Johnson, Blue Rodeo, Holly Cole, Jane Siberry, Ron Sexsmith, Lorainne Segato, Willie P. Bennet, Molly Johnson, and The Barenaked Ladies are only the tip of the iceberg.
If you’re interested in playing The Cameron there’s a few things you should know. You MUST be at least 19 years of age to play here. Please enclose a short history of where you have played. We prefer a physical CD with a couple of songs that best represent your band’s sound. Drop the package off any day after 4:00pm at the bar or email cosmo.ferraro@hotmail.com. Leave the material with us for a week then call us to follow up. The Cameron supports music of all genres.
The Cameron House has two small stages. Each room has a capacity of 60 people. Generally anyone who plays The Cameron House always has a local following. We do not count on walk in traffic to provide an audience for our live acts. If you’re coming from anywhere outside the greater Toronto area, chances are you will be playing for the soundman and the waiter, hardly worth it for you or us. Best thing to do is drop by the bar, see where it is, take a look around and then decide if it would be beneficial for you and your band to play here.
SO YOU’VE BEEN BOOKED
Ok, now that you’re booked, here’s what you should know:
We have a small but great sounding P.A. complete with Mics, D.I.’s and a sound tech. Bands are responsible for bring their own personal gear. The sound tech will arrive at 8:00pm to set up mics and get a mix. If you prefer different timing, let us know and we will try to make arrangements.
This is your night. You can start your first set when you want, but no one plays after last call (2am). If you have an opening act (we don’t book them) please let us know as soon as possible to add to our listings.
