Since opening it's doors to musicians in 1981, The Cameron has been home to well over a thousand bands. Many of these artists have since gone on to enjoy very successful careers in music. The likes of , Gordie Johnson, Blue Rodeo, Holly Cole, Jane Siberry, Ron Sexsmith, Lorainne Segato, Willie P. Bennet, Molly Johnson and The Barenaked Ladies are only the tip of the iceberg.
If you're interested in playing The Cameron there's a few things you should know. You MUST be at least 19 years of age to play here. This is due to new anti-smoking by-laws and Liquor License regulations. We require a tape or CD (live recordings are fine) with a couple of songs that best represent your bands' sound. Please enclose a short history of where you've played. Drop the package off any day after 4:00 PM at the bar. Leave the material with us for a week then call us to follow up at the number below. The Cameron supports music of all genres.
The Cameron has two small stages. Each room has a capacity of 60 people. Generally anyone who plays The Cameron House always has a local following of sorts. We do not count on walk-ins to provide an audience for our live acts. If you're coming from anywhere outside the greater Toronto area, chances are you will be playing for the soundman and the waiter, hardly worth it for you or us. Best thing to do is drop by the bar, see where it is, take a look around and then decide if it would be beneficial for you and your gang to play here.
